The Washington Wizards have had an up-and-down season so far as they aim to finally make a playoff push. They’ll have a chance with Bradley Beal leading the way, as he ended up remaining with the team rather than signing elsewhere. Now, we finally know why Beal chose to stay in Washington.
During an appearance on the No Chill Podcast, the Wizards’ guard explained the true reason why he chose to re-sign with Washington. According to him, “there were no teams in the market, free agency-wise.”

“There were no teams in the market, free agency-wise. I’m just being frank. There was nowhere else for me to go where I can be like, ‘Oh, I can go win.’”

You’d think Bradley Beal could maybe join another franchise to create a super team to compete for a title. We see it nearly every offseason these days. So it’s a bit odd to hear the Wizards guard make this claim. Even so, Beal is playing extremely well as usual. But Washington would be more competitive if he had a co-star on the team.
We’ll see how the remainder of the Wizards’ season plays out. Washington is in a decent spot for the playoff hunt down the road. However, they’ll need to make some improvements if they hope to do so. For that reason, look for Bradley Beal to do everything to lead his team to as many wins as possible.
