Kentucky forward Brandon Garrison began his college basketball career at Oklahoma State so he does not like Oklahoma. He was the primary instigator during a chippy game between the Wildcats and his former Big 12 rival on Wednesday night.
It almost led to an extremely unfortunate situation due to poor fan behavior.
Garrison, a former four-star, was the No. 7-ranked player at his position in the college basketball recruiting Class of 2023. The 6-foot-10 center played one season for the Cowboys in Stillwater, entered the transfer portal, and landed in Lexington to play for Mark Pope. Although his sophomore season has been largely underwhelming, there have been some flashes of his potential along the way. Wednesday night was perhaps the most promising.
Not only did Garrison finish with 12 points, he knocked down two of three triples as a big and recorded four rebounds with three steals and three vicious blocks. His fiery attitude really got Big Blue Nation fired up.
Brandon Garrison was out for blood against Oklahoma. He talked a lot of talk throughout the entire game, which served as kindling for a much larger fire.

Otega Oweh hit the game-winner against his former team with under 20 seconds remaining. Garrison sealed the deal with a nasty swat on the other end. He wanted all of the smoke as soon as the clock hit triple zero and right up in the face of his opponent, just as he did earlier in the second half.

Garrison’s teammate had to pull him away from the incident to avoid any kind of dust-up. It was intense!
Quite the ending in Norman between the #Sooners and Wildcats. Otega Oweh hits the game-winner against his old team, and former #okstate Cowboy Brandon Garrison came up with the clutch block. A lot of words were exchanged after the buzzer, most of them were not nice pic.twitter.com/lWA5uwuXqn

Unfortunately, Sooners fans took their beef with Garrison too far and someone threw a beer can at the Wildcats as they made their way back into the locker room. Kentucky’s 250-pound big was ready to pull a Ron Artest but his teammates once again kept him from further escalation.

To say that Brandon Garrison was excited by the win would be an understatement.
