An Atlanta Braves fan is making major headlines after snagging a home run ball in the outfield. Not only did the fan make the grab with a child in his grasps, but he then launched the baseball back into the field of play.

He quickly went viral on social media, leading to an array of reactions from sports viewers.

Atlanta hosted the hated Phillies on Wednesday as we close in on the end of the MLB regular season. The Braves are safely in the playoffs, already having clinched the NL East.

Philadelphia, meanwhile, is looking to nab a wildcard spot. They appear on their way to doing so, holding a 3.5-game advantage for the first place slot.

The two rivals competed in a highly entertaining contest that ended in extra innings.

The Phillies were able to strike first in the top of the 10th inning, plating two runs. Atlanta tried to answer but came up just short, eventually falling, 6-5.

Nick Castellanos was the hero for Philly, mashing a pair of homers. One of those long balls was tossed back into the field of play by a father-daughter combo in the outfield seats.

The Braves fan, child in hand, made a miraculous grab on that Castellanos home run to the cheers of onlookers. As is tradition when an opposing player goes deep in your park, the fan then launched the baseball back into the field of play.

Many online quickly commented as the play made its way around social media.

“Who needs a glove when you got hands like that?!” one follower asked.

“That Dad made it look easy,” another person said.

“This man needs a minor league contract!” exclaimed this account.

An impressive fan grab, though it wouldn’t help the Braves pull out the win.
