Brazil’s five FIFA World Cup trophies are more than any other country in the world. But the Selecao have not won the tournament since 2002 in South Korea.

The Brazilians entered Friday’s quarterfinal matchup with 2018 runner-up Croatia flying high. Brazil crushed South Korea, to the tune of a 4-1 victory, in the round of 16 and enter the final eight as one of the tournament favorites.

That has the legendary Brazilian fans fired up to support their team. One fan, in particular, stole the show before the match with the absolute coolest costume we have ever seen.

The fan appears to have covered himself in reflective glass so that he looks like something out of a video game of the metaverse. We’ve personally never seen anything like it and it appears neither has anyone else in Qatar or on Twitter.

As it turns out, there are multiple fans in Qatar with similar costumes.

Unfortunately for the Brazil team, the fan enthusiasm didn’t carry over to their performance. Croatia’s outstanding midfield and breakout young star Josko Gvardiol at center back stifled the Brazilian attack.

The match is currently in extra time after neither team could find a breakthrough goal in the first 90 minutes.

Who knows, maybe they can sub on the fan to distract the Croatian defenders in extra time?
