To the surprise of virtually no one, the New York Jets — without the services of Aaron Rodgers, who tore his Achilles after just four snaps with the team — got waxed in Dallas by the Cowboys by a score of 30-10.

Not only did the newly-installed staring quarterback and overwhelming draft bust Zach Wilson throw three interceptions, but the likes of Breece Hall got just four carries in the game.

Hall certainly noticed his lack of touches in the loss, as he called out the Jets’ coaching staff over the decision following the game.

“I mean, I only got four touches. That’s why we struggled. It is what it is. We just got down early today and just abandoned the run. That type of stuff happens, you feel like you’ve gotta get back in the game and it just slips away,” Hall said.

Hall didn’t stop there though, as he also tweeted, and then subsequently deleted, four football emojis to indicate the four touches he got.

Fellow Jets running back Dalvin Cook didn’t fare all that better, as he had just seven yards on four carries. In fact, Wilson was the team’s leading rusher with five carries for 36 yards.

Things don’t get any easier for the Jets next week as they’ll be taking on the New England Patriots, who have absolutely dominated Wilson during his two years in the league.

Then, prior to the start of November, the Jets have matchups against the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants.

Against the Cowboys, Wilson completed 12 of 27 passes for 170 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.

Given the talent that the team has on both sides of the ball, it will be interesting to see how long head coach Robert Saleh sticks with Wilson as the team’s starting quarterback, as he’s clearly holding the rest of the squad — who entered the season with Super Bowl aspirations — back.
