It has been exactly 13 days since Brian Kelly took over at LSU and he already has his quarterback of the future. Five-star prospect Walker Howard committed to the Tigers on Sunday night and celebrated with a very awkward video of Kelly on the school’s recruiting weekend.

In the video, Walker can be seen standing back to back on a pedestal. A 360-degree camera spins around the two of them and Kelly dances a jig while the unofficially official song of LSU, Garth Brooks’ ‘Calling Baton Rouge’, plays in the background.

Credit to Kelly. He got in and kept a big-time in-state recruit in-state right away.

Howard would have been hard to lose, admittedly, but credit to him.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound righty is from Lafayette, Louisiana and played at St. Thomas Moore. He is listed as the No. 5 overall player at his position in the Class of 2022 on 247Sports and is really fun to watch.

With that being said, Kelly’s participation in Howard’s commitment video is very, very cringeworthy. Howard is just standing there and Kelly is having himself a Mardi Gras parade in the back.

It’s almost as uncomfortable as his fake southern accent.

Naturally, the internet had a lot to say about Kelly and his performance. The first thing to point out is how much room he has on the podium.

Now, again to his credit, Howard just has to stand there while Kelly does all of the work. But that is way more than half of the pedestal and simply unnecessary.

He also provided us with a great meme for future losses.
