Brock Purdy Is Living A Very Frugal Lifestyle Based On His Living Situation And Choice Of Car

Brock Purdy has defied the “Mr. Irrelevant” label he was slapped with after the 49ers drafted him with the last overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, and he’s done pretty well for himself since earning the starting job in San Francisco. With that said, he seems to be pretty content with living a comparatively frugal lifestyle when you consider he still has a roommate and drives a decidedly unluxurious car.

When I spoke with Purdy earlier this year, it was evident the quarterback is a pretty humble dude who was very eager to flip the script after most people assumed he’d never really make a huge mark in the NFL based on how other guys who’ve been dubbed “Mr. Irrelevant” have historically fared.

He’s certainly proved the doubters wrong since taking the top spot on San Francisco’s depth chart, as he led the 49ers to the NFC Championship Game that was marred by his incredibly unfortunate elbow injury and is still undefeated in regular season starts heading into Week 5 of the 2023 NFL campaign.

It’s safe to assume Purdy will sign a very big deal once his rookie contract expires, but as things currently stand, he’s getting paid $870,000 to play for the 49ers this year. That’s not a tiny number by any means, but it’s still a far cry from what most of his peers (and a solid chuck of tech workers in the Bay Area) take home on an annual basis—although the QB doesn’t seem like he’s in a huge rush to blow through it.

Purdy recently sat down with Today for an interview where he shed some light on his personal life, and while most NFL QBs don’t have an offensive lineman as a roommate or drive around in a Toyota Sequoia, he checks both of those boxes.

I have a feeling that won’t be the case in a couple of years, but it’s good to know Purdy probably won’t join the long list of professional athletes who ended up going broke because they couldn’t stop themselves from spending as much cash as possible.
