The Denver Broncos are cutting former Dallas Cowboys, defensive end Randy Gregory, who inked a big 5-year, $70 million deal just last offseason,

Gregory’s stint in Denver was rather short-lived, featuring him in only 10 games. He managed to rake in approximately $27.5 million from the Broncos for that 10-game stint, which, when you crunch the numbers, comes out to roughly $1 million per pressure.

Reports say that the Broncos attempted to offload him via trade over the span of a week but found no takers, so they’ve released him instead.

The AFC West had made a substantial effort last offseason to bolster their defenses in a bid to slow down Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

  • The Chargers secured JC Jackson for 5 years at $82.5 million.
  • The Raiders brought in Chandler Jones on a 3-year, $51 million deal.
  • The Broncos, of course, added Randy Gregory for a hefty 5-year, $70 million contract.

Yet, in an unexpected twist, all three of those players are now gone, and it all happened within the same week.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs appear to be cruising along without a care in the world, perhaps enjoying a chuckle or two at the expense of their division rivals.
