The Denver Broncos head coaching search is on as the team is looking to make a splash hire.
Well, it sounds like the front office is already busy as they’re showing a ton of interest in Sean Payton. So much so, rumors are already churning out of the rumor mill.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Broncos have already “begun negotiations on a potential deal for Sean Payton. Of course, Payton is still under contract with the New Orleans Saints. For that reason, it sounds like both organizations are discussing a possible trade package.

The Broncos are clearly not messing around. After having a wildly disappointing season, the front office sees an opportunity to acquire a head coach with plenty of past success. At this time, it is unknown what Denver may have to offer the Saints in a trade. But it sounds like they might be willing to send a decent-sized package to New Orleans to acquire Sean Payton.
We’ll see how it plays out. Although these reports came to fruition, the Broncos are also set to interview Jim Harbaugh, per Rapoport.

So, the Broncos are certainly looking to shake things up. Look for them to remain in the race for Sean Payton or Jim Harbaugh throughout their head coaching search.
