Cleveland Browns have traded quarterback Josh Dobbs to the Arizona Cardinals, according to CBS’s Jonathan Jones.

This trade has significant implications for both teams, with the Browns opting to elevate rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson to the position of QB2 behind star quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson, a 5th round pick from this year’s 2023 NFL Draft, managed to outshine veterans Kellen Mond and Josh Dobbs during the Browns’ selection process.

The rookie’s impressive performances during the preseason played a pivotal role in securing his place as the second-string quarterback.

Thompson-Robinson’s rise to the QB2 position underscores his potential and the trust the Browns’ coaching staff has in his abilities.

In exchange for Josh Dobbs, the Cardinals traded a 5th round pick and a 7th round pick to the Browns. This move signifies the Cardinals’ intention to strengthen their quarterback lineup and provide additional depth to their roster.

The Cardinals made three trades today between Dobbs, Isaiah Simmons to the Giants and Josh Jones to the Texans.

In a separate but related update, the Browns initially announced the waiver of Kellen Mond earlier today. However, the trade involving Josh Dobbs has led to a reversal of this decision.

Kellen Mond will now remain on the Browns’ roster, providing further depth in the quarterback position.
