I Need Bubba Watson’s American Flag Presidents Cup Shoes In My Closet ASAP

Yeah, so I know Team USA hasn’t lost in a Presidents Cup since 1998 so this doesn’t even need to be said, but the Internationals stand literally no chance this week with Bubba Watson rocking these shoes. Just too much America for foreign soil to even handle.

I’m surprised these things don’t hatch bald eagles when Bubba leaves them in the locker room overnight…or do they?

Doesn’t matter that this Presidents Cup is being played in South Korea. Doesn’t matter that the Internationals boast Jason Day, who closed out the PGA Tour season as the hottest golfer in the game. Doesn’t even matter that Bubba Watson is paired with J.B. Holmes for his first match, who doesn’t even have a Presidents Cup match play start in his career (but surely a better play than an injured Jim Furyk who he replaced last week)!

As long as Bubba Watson has these shoes on and goes long like he always does, Team USA cruises to another Presidents Cup Victory at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club this weekend.

Here’s the Day 1 pairings, in case you haven’t seen them yet:

Match 1:

Bubba Watson and J.B. Holmes (U.S.) vs. Adam Scott and Hideki Matsuyama (INT)

Match 2:

Matt Kuchar and Patrick Reed (U.S.) vs. Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace (INT)

Match 3:

Rickie Fowler and Jimmy Walker (U.S.) vs. Anirban Lahiri and Thongchai Jaidee (INT)

Match 4:

Phil Mickelson and Zach Johnson (U.S.) vs. Jason Day and Steven Bowditch (INT)

Match 5:

Jordan Spieth and Dustin Johnson (U.S.) vs. Danny Lee and Marc Leishman (INT)

Looking them over again, yeah, this could get out of hand. Coverage starts Wednesday night at 10:00pm EST on Golf Channel, and runs on the late night schedule through the weekend, so be sure to set your DVRs accordingly.

P.S.: Oakley – I’m totally fine with a size 10 pair of those puppies somehow finding their way into my closet. Probably be like this the first time I saw them (and every time after that).
