By now, the entire sports world is following the story of Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin. Hamlin collapsed on the field after a collision with Bengals receiver Tee Higgins in the first quarter of their game on Monday Night Football.
Hamlin, whose heart stopped beating on the field and had to be restarted both there and at the hospital, is recovering. He is even watching the Buffalo Bills’ game today against the New England Patriots at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
And, he got quite the thrill on the game’s first play.
Buffalo is always a fun place to watch a game. It might be the most college-like atmosphere in the NFL. I’m sure that today there’s a lot of energy in that stadium.
And, the first play of the game was something out of a storybook.
Buffalo received the opening kickoff, and backup running back Nyheim Hines made it very dusty in a lot of living rooms all across the country.
Unreal, Nyheim Hines opens the game with a 96-yard touchdown off the kick return.
For Damar Hamlin! Amazing 🙏pic.twitter.com/GS4P3jlmFU

Wow. What a start. But, there’s more. Damar Hamlin wears number 3 for the team. The last Buffalo Bills kick return touchdown? Three years and three months ago.
Did I really hear that it had been three years and three months since the #BillsMafia had a kickoff returned?!
It’s just unreal how this stuff aligns. #Sports

But wait, there’s more!
Hines did it again!
“IS THIS FOR REAL?!”
Jim Nantz. Nyheim Hines. Electric.
