Cade Klubnik is very open about the role that the Lord plays in his life on a daily basis. His faith is strong and he is not afraid to speak about the impact that it has had on him and the people with whom he surrounds himself.

Klubnik’s bio on social media states ‘Believer ✞’ and lists Psalm 23:4. The passage reads:

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.

— New International Version, The Bible

When Klubnik committed to Clemson, his video was set to Matt Redmon’s song ‘10,000 Reasons (Bless. The Lord).’ He also made sure to thank his parents for introducing him to faith.

And last but not least, I’d like to thank my mom and dad. Thank you for showing me what it truly means to be a man of Christ, what it means to be a leader amongst many.

As a five-star quarterback, the start of Klubnik’s college football journey was unusual. His freshman season saw him thrust into the starting job for the ACC Championship after spending most of the year as the backup. There was, and is, a lot of pressure on his shoulders.

The Tigers have not reached the College Football Playoff since 2019, which has the fanbase restless to get back. Dabo Swinney built an empire that is not crumbling down, but has fallen from grace.

Even though most teams would sign a dotted line prior to the season if it guaranteed 11 wins, an 11-3 record last year was disappointing for Clemson. It is Klubnik’s responsibility to get the Tigers back.

That’s a lot of pressure. However, Klubnik is not facing the challenges alone. He turns to God.

The same can be said, perhaps more indirectly, prior to games. While his teammates listen to playlists defined by trap, rock and edm, their quarterback is focused on worship.

Klubnik recently revealed that his pregame music playlists consists entirely of Christian artists, including Lecrae, Hulvey (his current favorite), and KB. He has different vibes for different parts of the day, but they are all Christian musicians!

Klubnik had a rough start to his first full season as the starter with a loss to Duke, but Clemson appears to have found some momentum. Their starting quarterback, win or lose, will always lead with faith!
