Caitlin Clark is arguably the best player in women’s college basketball history. The sport’s most prolific scorer, she owns the NCAA record for points – surpassing “Pistol Pete” Maravich earlier this year.

Now, her Iowa Hawkeyes are in the NCAA Tournament and looking to avenge last year’s national title loss. Unfortunately, her on-court antics are overshadowing the team’s play to this point.

While putting up monster numbers to this point in tournament play, she’s often been chastised for her constant complaining to officials. It apparently got so bad that even her dad had to say something about his daughter habit of begging for calls.

It appeared Clark achieved her goal of getting the referees in her favor during the second round of the Big Dance, as officiating was criticized for being one-sided in a close game against West Virginia.

The Hawkeyes outshot the Mountaineers 30-to-5 at the free throw line, being called for just 11 fouls compared to WVU’s 27.

It seems a few NBA commentators have been keeping up with Caitlin Clark’s March Madness run, and on Monday, they threw a vicious stray her way.

It came during a matchup between the Celtics and Hawks.

After Jayson Tatum was called for an obvious reach-in foul, he turned to officials to plead his case. That led to the unexpected jab on the NBA broadcast.

“Boy, Jayson Tatum does a lot of complaining. Who does he think he is, Caitlin Clark?” Bob Rathbun joked after seeing the interaction. “Caitlin Clark was complaining so much that her dad got on her at the NCAA Tournament!”

Fans were quick to comment online.

Speaking the truth.”

“This is hilarious.”

“Now that’s funny!! But true…”

Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes take on Colorado in the Sweet 16. We’ll see if she heeds her father’s advice moving forward.
