Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is having a rough stretch during the start of her third WNBA season. Some fans think this is just the player she actually is.
Through the first 10 games of the Indiana Fever’s 2026 season, Caitlin Clark is averaging 18.7 points, 8.2 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game. Over the last four games, however, her shooting efficiency has taken a nose dive — 25%, 14.3%, 35.3%, and 28.6% from the field — and critics have been quick to notice.
Clark’s performance against the New York Liberty over the weekend — 10 points (28.6% from the field), 9 assists and 7 rebounds — led to discussions on social media about what’s going on with the former University of Iowa standout.

No agendas. No jokes. Seriously asking. What’s wrong with her. https://t.co/9v3bS4Ce3j

I will say this again:
Until Caitlin Clark either LEARNS how to better contest without fouling…
…or until she DECIDES to give more effort on contests, she will INEVITABLY be isolated in one on ones.
Particularly late in close games.

“Caitlin clark hasn’t improved as a basketball player in two years but you wouldn’t know that if you logged on here cuz she gets glazed like she’s greatest ever,” one viral tweet read.”
“it wasnt the injury. its not the system. she hasnt improved as a basketball player in 2 years and the league caught up and adjusted and she simply hasnt figured out a counter,” a second added.
“She hasn’t gotten better since college is the problem. Imo when i watch her i dont see someone whos improved she does all the same stuff and that was effective when she got to the WNBA but now its been two seasons they’ve scouted her and she hasn’t added anything. Shes not stronger faster quicker or added anything so even the things she used to he great at she isnt anymore,” a third summarized.
“She’s Trae Young, elite range, terrible efficiency, great playmaker, terrible defender. The WNBA has figured her out,” a fourth concluded.
“What in the world has happened to Caitlin Clark? She looks terrible, can’t play defense, can’t shoot, no confidence, throws her hands up and complains every time down the court. This is hard to watch. She is like the 3rd or 4th best player on the fever now. The magic is gone,” a fifth concurred.
Clark’s struggles on-the-court are being compounded by her attitude, with a video of her seemingly ignoring a high-five attempt from a teammate going viral during the Indiana Fever’s loss to the New York Liberty on Saturday night.

“I wish Caitlin Clark would just stop whining and play. The logo-shooting, circus-passing, shape-shifting revelation who was once arguably the most famous basketball player in the world has become rude, entitled and, frankly, not all that fun,” wrote LA Times columnist and former Around the Horn contributor Bill Plaschke.
While Clark’s detractors have likely been eagerly awaiting a moment to pile on, there’s no denying that Clark’s game has seemingly plateaued, which is a fact that’s only being exacerbated by her seemingly frustrated and aloof attitude.
