Caitlin Clark has the second-best odds to be named as MVP of the WNBA. And yet, the league and its partners continue to leave her out of the conversation.
She was not even included on the informational graphic for ION Television’s Friday night broadcast.
This kind of thing continues to happen with the WNBA. Nobody wants to give Clark the credit she deserves.
Caitlin Clark has the second-best betting odds to win MVP.
As of this writing, there are only 15/16 games remaining in the 44-game regular season. The final day of the 2026 WNBA regular season will feature a five-game slate on Thursday, September 24.
And as things currently stand, Caitlin Clark is listed at +1000 odds to be named as MVP of the league on FanDuel Sportsbook. Ahead of her is only the runaway favorite, A’ja Wilson at -475 odds. Two other players are also in the mix, Olivia Miles at +1000 and Paige Bueckers at +1300.
From there, it is Breanna Stewart at +6000, and Kelsey Mitchell, Sabrina Ionescu, Rhyne Howard, Allisha Gray, Gabby Williams and Jessica Shepard at +20000. Jackie Young, Marina Mabrey, Aliyah Boston, Sonia Citron and Angel Reese are listed at +25000.
The Indiana Fever is currently 4.5 games back in the regular season standings at 19-10. Clark currently leads the team in assists per game with the third-most rebounds per game and second-most points per game. Mitchell is the team’s leading scorer.
The WNBA’s television partner snubbed her, again.
Scripps Sports and ION returned as the WNBA’s exclusive Friday night national network partner in 2026 under their newly-expanded multi-year agreement. ION will air 50 regular season games this season, the most of any single network.
The double-header on Friday night featured the Seattle Storm at Atlanta Dream or Dallas Wings at Washington Mystics at 7:30 p.m. ET and the Indiana Fever at Portland Fire at 10:00 p.m. ET.
At some point during the first game, ION featured a graphic for the WNBA MVP race. It included A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Mitchell, Paige Bueckers, Olivia Miles and Breanna Stewart. It did not include Caitlin Clark.
The first four players made sense based on the odds. The third does not.
Clark is averaging 21.6 points, 8.0 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per game. Her team is on pace to win the most games in franchise history for the second year in a row. She is, arguably, the face of the league. Although popularity is not a determining factor in the MVP race, the sportsbook odds speak for themselves.
FanDuel lists Clark with the second-best odds to win the MVP alongside Olivia Miles. ION, the official partner of the WNBA, did not even include her in the top-five.
