People love to hate future Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams. The expected No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft simply does not care.
He is a unique personality in a league where personality is often squashed or overpowered.
That does not sit well with a vocal minority of fans who would prefer that the athletes lack individualism. They believe that Williams is not going to be successful in the NFL because he does not fit an archaic stereotype for what a football player “should” look like. They care more about how he looks than his on-field tape.
There is a concern that Williams is not a leader of men. His teammates would disagree. You would be hard pressed to find anyone with any legitimacy to saying anything negative about the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.
And yet, a video of Caleb Williams having fun at a USC women’s basketball game is being discussed by many as a glaring red flag.
He carries a pink phone. His wallet appeared to match the phone, which also matched his nails. Some people thought that he was wearing lip gloss.
That is untrue!
Williams has a pink phone, yes. But his nails on that day were clear. His wallet is actually white. He was not wearing lipstick.

The NFL draft will take place four weeks from Thursday. Barring a massively shocking and unforeseen change, Williams will be drafted first overall by the Bears.
Gavin Morris, USC’s Director of Player Development, gave him a chance to clear things up.
Williams let everybody know that his lips are (naturally) pink and joked that “your girl loves them.”

Mic drop!
Williams is clearly taking all of the outside criticism in stride. He doesn’t care.
And so long as he goes out and wins, neither will the Chicago fanbase!
