It has been 28 days since Caleb Williams announced that he was entering the transfer portal. He has yet to commit. There is no telling when the 20-year-old will make his decision official, but the expectation is that it must be coming soon.

Ever since former Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley left for the same job with USC, Williams was considered likely to follow. That remains the case.

From everything that I have heard, the Trojans have an understanding with Williams that he is headed to Los Angeles. However, to avoid tampering allegations, they likely encouraged Williams to take other visits and may or may not have planted recent rumors.

Over the course of the last few weeks, two different suitors have entered the mix. At first, the belief was that he was deciding between LSU and USC.

And then, last week, Wisconsin was said to have a legitimate shot at landing Williams. Although the ties to the Badgers are there, committing to play football in Madison doesn’t make sense for Williams based on prior comments.

Even still, Wisconsin fans are hopeful. Maybe too hopeful.

First, one of the Badgers faithful has established that he will drink a raw egg everyday until Williams commits to play for head coach Paul Chryst. On Sunday, Wisconsin fans got desperate.

During a home basketball game against Minnesota, the arena broke out into a chant of “WE WANT CALEB” that could be heard on the broadcast at home.

That must be tough for redshirt sophomore quarterback Graham Mertz, but that’s the nature of college football these days. It’s a desperate look from Wisconsin fans. Williams isn’t going to play in Madison.

Meanwhile, he is trolling everybody on Instagram as college football fans anxiously await his commitment.
