Cam Newton Joined Shirtless Bruce Pearl In The Auburn Student Section And Things Got Weird

Prior to Auburn’s home game against No. 2 Georgia on Saturday, Cam Newton posted a poll on his Instagram story. He asked his followers whether he should watch the massive SEC matchup from the student section at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Obviously, the vast majority of people voted yes, but no one was sure if he was serious. Well, just before kickoff, he showed up and showed out.

However, things got weird fast and it wasn’t Newton’s fault. Yes, he was wearing one of his unique hats, but that was the most normal part.

As Newton walked over to the stands, he noticed a familiar face— Auburn’s head basketball coach Bruce Pearl. Pearl was with his team in the bleachers and, for some unknown reason, decided to rip off his shirt and flex into the camera while screaming before greeting Newton.

It was really weird.

And to make the situation even more strange, former Bachelor contestant (finalist?) Madi Prewett was also in the stands with the team. Prewett’s father is an assistant coach for the Tigers and she is often around the team, so that wasn’t weird, but the combination of everything that was going on is too much for my brain to handle.

Apparently it was too much for Prewett too. Look at her face:

After all of this fanfare, and Newton’s return to Auburn, the Tigers lost by 2. Perhaps Pearl should keep his shirt on next time?
