Canelo Alvarez claims he’s not ducking David Benavidez and firing back at Mike Tyson.

Last month, Benavidez’s promoter Sampson Lewkowicz claimed he had offered Canelo $55 million guaranteed for a fight, which Canelo’s team denied.

At the time, Mike Tyson said he couldn’t understand why the Mexican superstar would turn down a fight against Benavidez.

“I can’t believe what I just heard,”

“What’s wrong with Canelo? Is he afraid of losing? Doesn’t he want to give the fans the fight they want to see? Don’t you want to give the fans the fight they want to see?”

On Tuesday, Canelo faced the media during his first press conference for his fight against Jaime Munguia.

When asked about Tyson’s comments, Canelo said he would only respect them if Tyson were “sober” when he made them.

As for Benavidez, Canelo says his rival brings “nothing to the table” and would only fight him if someone offered $150-$200 million for the fight.

“And who is he to offer me money? If he offered the amount he said, I can make that amount with anybody. That’s nothing. He brings nothing to the table for me, just 25lbs more on fight night.”

“If some promoter, not him, because he’s nothing to offer me…but I one promoter who I work to they come and say I offer to I offer to you 150 to 200 million. I fight tomorrow…that’s the only that’s the only reason I fight with him…”
