Arizona Cardinals star safety Budda Baker has indicated his intention to attend the upcoming training camp, however, Baker’s presence does not negate his dissatisfaction with the current state of his contract negotiations.

Earlier in the offseason, Baker made a trade request, expressing his desire to explore other options. Despite his return for mandatory training camp, where he abstained from participating in on-field practices, Baker’s situation remains unresolved.

Shedding light on his stance, Baker’s agent, David Mulugheta, spoke to Mike Garafolo of NFL Media, emphasizing that his client seeks a contract that reflects his long-term role within the Cardinals’ plans, thereby demonstrating his value to the team.

When Baker initially signed his current deal, he became the highest-paid safety in the league. However, Mulugheta clarified that Baker does not aim to reclaim that position in any new agreement with the Cardinals.

The primary focus lies on securing a fair contract that adequately recognizes Baker’s contributions to the team.

Monti Ossenfort, the General Manager of the Arizona Cardinals, acknowledged the ongoing discussions and stated that the team will keep communication lines open with Baker.

As the training camp draws closer, fans eagerly anticipate whether these discussions will yield a new agreement that satisfies both parties.
