Carmelo Anthony made a rare return to the Carrier Dome on Wednesday night and the Syracuse Orangemen basketball team gifted him with their worst offensive performance in 74 years.
In a 48-34 loss to the reigning National Champion Virginia Cavaliers, the Orange shot 23.6% from the field, including 5-of-29 from beyond the arc no thanks to a suffocating defense that even SU head coach Jim Boeheim admitted they were not “not ready to play against that defense.”
The loudest the Carrier Dome got all night was when former SU star and NCAA National Champion Carmelo Anthony was introduced on the jumbotron.
The most exciting aspect of the game was logging onto Twitter to pile it on Melo for his Candy Land detective outfit.
The only possible way Melo could look more fly is if he was in an NBA uniform.
