Carson Beck will finish out his college career at Miami. The signal caller opted to transfer from Georgia after three seasons. Many initially believed that decision was mutual. Recent reports say it wasn’t.

As a starter, Beck led the Bulldogs to a 24-3 overall record across two seasons. In 2023, he led the SEC in passing. Unfortunately, he struggled in Year 2.

Beck threw a conference-worst 12 interceptions. After suffering an injury in the SEC Championship Game, he had surgery to effectively end his campaign.

Gunner Stockton took over under center, leading the Bulldogs to a come-from-behind win against Texas before falling to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff.

Beck’s inconsistency was a hit to his NFL Draft resume. It also led to a narrative being formed that Georgia was ready to move on. According to Matt Hayes of USA Today, that wasn’t the case.

When Beck, the former Georgia quarterback, decided last week to enter the transfer portal after initially declaring for the NFL draft, the first team and coach to try and secure him – the very first – was Georgia and Kirby Smart.

A person close to Beck’s decision making, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the process, told USA TODAY Sports that not only was Georgia at the front of the line for Beck – who has been eviscerated by Georgia fans on social media since the Bulldogs’ early exit from the College Football Playoff – but SEC heavyweight Alabama was next to call.

Kirby Smart reportedly asked Carson Beck to return to Athens for his final season. When he said no, Alabama came calling.

Beck spurned both the Bulldogs and Crimson Tide in order to join the Miami Hurricanes. That commitment came with a massive NIL payday.

Whispers of a $4 million deal surfaced after his decision to move to South Beach. He also got the chance to link up with his Miami basketball girlfriend Hanna Cavinder.

Beck wasted no time getting settled in. Just last week, he was spotted celebrating Cavinder’s birthday alongside her twin sister and Dallas Cowboys tight end Jake Ferguson.

Many believed Georgia was ready to get rid of Carson Beck after an up and down season. That doesn’t appear to be true. He rejected his former head coach and a rival in order to become a Hurricane. He’ll look to lead the program to a successful season in 2025.
