Carson Beck has officially arrived to Miami and spent his Monday celebrating the Cavinder twins’ birthday alongside Jake Ferguson. They did so on a boat provided to them by billionaire John Ruiz.
It was his first taste of life in the 305!
Ruiz, the founder of insurance claims company ‘LifeWallet’ and prominent attorney in South Florida, also owns the famous boat manufacturer Cigarette Racing Team. Although his exact net worth is currently in limbo because of some lingering doubt about the future of LifeWallet, he was at one point worth at least $1.2 billion. That could still be true. It could be less. It could be slightly more.
Either way, Ruiz has a ton of money and has played a monumental role in the success of Hurricanes athletics. He has become one of the biggest NIL donors for any single program in college sports.
The funds provided by Ruiz have allowed Miami to recruit some of the best and highest-profile athletes in the country to Coral Gables over the last three+ years. In fact, the NCAA hit the women’s basketball program with fairly irrelevant Level II violations in 2023 that actually stemmed from the recruitment of the Cavinder twins. Ruiz made it very clear that he could not care less what the NCAA has to say and continues to pump millions of dollars into the Hurricanes’ athletic programs.
He (through LifeWallet and/or Cigarette Racing) likely agreed to pay a portion (or all) of Carson Beck’s monster $3+ million NIL deal at Miami. He definitely provided the Cavinder twins and their boyfriends with a boat for their birthday. Not to keep, just to party!
Hanna, Haley, Jake and Carson had themselves a Monday and they made sure to plug Cigarette Racing.

Ruiz also commented on the outing.
Hold on- are those the Cavinder Twins on a Cigarette Racing Team boat? Is that Carson Beck? Happy Birthday Twins!

Needless to say, Carson Beck is living his best life.

The former Georgia quarterback is getting paid a (not so) small fortune to play one year of college football at Miami alongside his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder. In the meantime, he gets to party on a billionaire’s boat while he recovers from injury during the offseason.
