A Coastal Carolina player was seen chugging a beer thrown in his direction following CCU’s 27-24 win over Appalachian State. The frosty beverage was tossed onto the field by an upset Mountaineer fan.

The player’s reaction has now gone viral online leading to a hysterical reaction from college football fans.

The Chanticleers pulled the upset in Boone on Tuesday in a little midweek Sun Belt action. The thrilling matchup ended with Coastal Carolina kicker Kade Hensley connecting on a 24-yard field goal as time expired.

The locker room scenes after the walk-off win were epic.

Before the team made its way to that celebration, though, they made sure to let the App State crowd hear about the road upset in a bitter rivalry. Many of the Coastal Carolina players were seen antagonizing fans after the fact, waving goodbye to the students’ section after handing the Mountaineers their first conference loss.

One angry App supporter decided to heave his beer at a CCU player in response. The player took a page out of Drew Lock’s playbook, quickly picking the beverage up and downing it.

That player was Chanticleers offensive lineman Evan Jumper, who reposted the now viral video circulating social media.

“Damn right,” the big man said, but he wasn’t the only one reacting to the clip.

“What a power move,” one follower replied.

“A legend is born,” said another.

“It was probably still cold from the mountain air!” this fan quipped. That might be true with lows in the mid 40s in Boone this week.

With the win, Coastal Carolina improved to 3-3. It seems they’ll enjoy every ounce of this victory before taking on Arkansas State in a couple Saturdays.
