Ever since Tony Romo went to Cabo San Lucas with his ten-girlfriend Jessica Simpson during the bye week ahead of the Dallas Cowboys’ divisional game loss to the New York Giants in 2008, NFL quarterbacks’ girlfriends and wives have been getting the blame for their boyfriend’s poor play.
Olivia Munn went through it with Aaron Rodgers. Ciara went through it with Russell Wilson. Even Gisele Bundchen faced it with Tom Brady. And god forbid an athlete in any sport ever dated a Kardashian.
So, naturally, with the Los Angeles Chargers sitting at 0-2, already two games behind the AFC West-leading Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders, quarterback Justin Herbert is getting blamed. He has gotten off to a very slow start, not putting up the kind of numbers that he did during his first six years in the NFL.
This, of course, means that his girlfriend, Madison Beer, who Herbert became engaged to in July, is also getting blamed.

Madison Beer is a well-documented, passionate Fortnite gamer. The 27-year-old’s songs can be found as Jam Tracks and she has some in-game emotes. In February of this year, she playfully requested her own in-game character skin from creator Epic Games. Fortnite’s design director replied, and Beer revealed on Wednesday that her request had been fulfilled.
While a lot of Fortnite fans were very excited to see Madison Beer be featured in the game, others, who are obviously more invested in the fate of the Los Angeles Chargers, took the announcement as an opportunity to complain about her boyfriend, Justin Herbert.
“What did u do to Justin Herbert?” one fan wrote.
“Can you please motivate my boy Justin and tell him to talk to his front office so he can demand an elite wide receiver??” another asked.
“Very pretty but pls don’t distract my QB no more,” read another comment.
“Tell your husband to lock in. I got him on fantasy,” someone else complained.
“Tell your husband to focus, we need a Super Bowl. Besides, I got him on my fantasy team,” read a similar comment.
“I need your man to lock in, please, for the sake of my mental health,” another Chargers fan begged.
“You snatched Herbert’s soul and skill,” read a more sinister comment.
