It already seemed like the Chargers regretted signing cornerback JC Jackson to that massive free-agent contract last season, now it’s almost certain.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jackson, as reported by MassLive’s Chris Mason. This comes after Jackson’s probation violation stemming from a 2021 arrest for criminal speeding.

Jackson, who initially entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2018, made a name for himself as a ball magnet in the Patriots secondary, amassing an impressive 25 interceptions during his four-year tenure with the team.

Jackson signed lucrative five-year, $82.5 million contract with the Chargers in the 2022 offseason, but has faced challenges in living up to the expectations of his deal, due to injuries and poor play.

Interestingly, Jackson found himself as a healthy inactive for their recent win over the Vikings, which was also the team’s first win of the season.

The legal troubles for JC Jackson continue after he failed to appear for a probation violation hearing in Attleboro District Court, where he was supposed to address his failure to complete the mandated “Brains At Risk” program and pay a $300 fine as part of his probation terms, according to the report by Mason.

Subsequently, a warrant for his arrest was issued.

It isn’t clear how this will impact Jackson’s standing with the team, but things have certainly not been good since he signed with the Chargers.
