Kenny ‘The Jet’ Smith and Ernie Johnson work with Charles Barkley all of the time. Thus, when he got up and hit ‘The Griddy,’ they were not particularly amused. It was just another day in the office.
That was not the case for Clark Kellogg, who joined the trio for March Madness. Both he, the viewers at home, and even Barkley could not help but crack up.
During halftime of one of Friday’s NCAA Tournament games, the Auburn ‘Teamojis’ came out onto the screen and hit the viral dance. Smith asked Barkley if he could “handle that,” with “that” being the Griddy.
In reply, Barkley said “c’mon, I already showed you that earlier” before getting up to put his dance moves on display. Before he even made it out of his seat, he had a big smile spread across his face.
Johnson cracked “awww, are you going to do this live?” as Barkley got up and hit his attempt at the Griddy. It could definitely use some work, but Kellogg was full-blown laughing while Smith and Johnson were hardly phased. They smirked for a moment, but it was just another day in the office for them.
It was a truly incredible TV moment that only Barkley and the other half of the NBA Tonight crew could provide. Take a look:
