Charlie Woods Looks Entirely Unimpressed By His Dad During Preparation For U.S. Open At Pinehurst

Charlie Woods failed to qualify for the U.S. Open but that did not stop him from making the trip to North Carolina alongside his father. The 15-year-old son of Tiger Woods never looks impressed by the greatest golfer of all-time.

He never settles for anything less than a flawless outing, much like Tiger’s dad Earl and former coach Butch Harmon.

Charlie, who failed in his bid to reach the 2024 U.S. Open with a nine-over-par at a qualifying event back in April, is one of the sport’s biggest prodigies. Obviously. There are many years of golf ahead of him and there is plenty of time to qualify for similar events in the future.

In the meantime, Charlie is holding Tiger accountable. They have an inseparable bond and know everything about each other’s games. Their swings are practically identical. Their timing is the same. Everything about the father-son duo operates as one.

As such, Charlie and Tiger demand perfection from one another. Earl coached Tiger that way. Tiger coached Charlie that way. Now Charlie is coaching Tiger that way.

The evolution of the Woods family is a really cool period in sports history, but I digress.

A few different clips have surfaced from the U.S. Open. In none of them does Charlie look impressed by what his dad is doing. He is constantly offering constructive criticism.

It’s remarkable how closely their mannerisms align.

As Tiger Woods continues to work his way back from a catastrophic car accident, he has struggled to find his form. The last few years have been a challenge. Just finishing 72 holes is not easy.

To have Charlie Woods serving as his Earl/Butch-like motivator, from an outsider’s perspective, is exactly what he needs. The fact that it just so happens to be his 15-year-old son makes it just that much cooler!
