The Chicago Bears have a new QB to potentially replace Mitch Trubisky and it isn’t Cam Newton.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Bears traded a fourth round to the Jacksonville Jaguars for QB Nick Foles.
QB trade: Jacksonville is trading QB Nick Foles to Chicago for the Bears’ compensatory fourth-round pick, sources tell ESPN.
Bears’ coaches such as Matt Nagy have worked with Foles in past and know him well.

The Bears will inherit the final three-years of Nick Foles' deal, which pays a base value of $50M. He slots in as their starter.
The Jaguars will take on a dead cap charge of $18.75M for 2020, while stockpiling another draft pick as they go through a franchise transition.

I wonder if Jacksonville is paying any of the money left Foles’ contract. His cap hit is $21M in 2020 with $15.125M guarantee. But he has no guaranteed money after that. Holy cow. #Bears

Bears fans weren’t happy that the team went with Foles instead of pursuing Cam Newton who is also on the market.
Nick Foles might be an upgrade over Trubisky. But he might not be. And there were other QBs on the market who would have injected some real excitement into this franchise. Did they even try to go after Cam Newton? And to give up a fourth! I'm upset.

It’s one thing to miss on the QB you trade up for. It’s another to turn around & trade a somewhat valuable draft pick for a dude that lost his job to a late round pick last year.
Ryan Pace has dug his grave (if this doesn’t work out) & has no one to blame but himself. #Bears

LMAOO IM SO MAD
There’s no way the Panthers would say no to a 4th rounder.
So, he sat there and actually thought to himself Nick Foles is better than Cam Newton. How man?!#FireRyanPace

I just don't understand the value in this market. Dalton and Cam both available for similar $$ cost and clearly superior players.
Bears acted like Foles was only option. They should have had all leverage here to keep compensation low.

The Bears really picked Nick Foles over Cam Newton WOW. They really don’t want to win 🧐
