The Chicago Bears found an interesting way to call out NFL officiating, putting referees on blast for their entire social media following to witness.

The team posted a mic’d up clip from Monday night’s game with the Vikings dropping the error for all to see.

During that 12-10 win over their NFC North rivals, Bears defender Kyler Gordon was dealt a taunting penalty for removing his helmet.

What officials seemed to miss, though, was the fact that Gordon’s entire facemask had been ripped from his headgear, which is why he removed it in the first place.

Still, a flag was handed out, resulting in a 15-yard punishment for Chicago.

Many were immediately upset with the call, seeing that the defensive back had no intent of showing up his opponent. The Bears doubled down on that displeasure Tuesday night.

The social media team posted the play in full, showing not only Gordon removing his broken helmet, but also allowing everyone to see how it got damaged in the first place.

The video only riled Bears fans up more.

A true troll. The Bears not-so-subtly called out the blown call without the threat of a coach or player being fined.

On the play, Gordon got into a scuffle with a pair of Vikings on the sidelines. It even appears that one of those Minnesota players threw a punch.

You can clearly see the moment the facemask broke loose as Brandon Powell tugged on the equipment, effectively ripping it from the rest of the helmet. And there was a referee watching the entire situation unfold!

The extracurricular activity likely warranted an unnecessary roughness penalty on the Vikings. Fans let their voices be heard in the comments section while tagging the NFL Officiating page in the process.

“He’s getting punched after the play and gets called for taking his broken helmet off? Alright…”

“Great work, NFL Officiating!”

“Punches thrown, face mask ripped off, and Gordon gets called… Makes sense.”

The video evidence exonerates Gordon, though the Bears won’t be able to get those 15 yards back. Meanwhile, Powell might now face some repercussions given his involvement in the quarrel.
