There is probably no more famous name in Major League Baseball history than Babe Ruth. Even among non-baseball fans, everyone seems to know who Babe Ruth is. He’s like the Michael Jordan of baseball.
But what if Ruth never actually existed? I’d asked you to hear me out, but it’s a truly preposterous supposition. Somehow, it’s even more ridiculous than claims that Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point never happened.
Despite the absurdity of it all, it’s what Chicago Cubs superstar Pete Crow-Armstrong truly believes, and he explained as much on a recent podcast appearance.

Pete Crow-Armstrong Explains Why He Thinks Babe Ruth Never Existed
Crow-Armstrong recently appeared on the “Let’s Be Honest With Kristin Cavallari” podcast and was asked to share an unpopular opinion, and boy, did he uncork a wild one.
“This is gonna be crazy,” Crow-Armstrong began. “Babe Ruth never existed … I heard some pitcher with the Mariners, (Tyler) Saucedo, he did some podcast on Zoom when he was like going down the rabbit hole on how Babe Ruth never existed, and I was like ‘WOW!’
“It’s like, we always talk about how the game’s evolving. And people might as well have been like underhanding the ball to that guy and he’s regarded still as one of the best players ever. You might as well dive further into it and be like ‘well, maybe he just never existed.'”
What Crow-Armstrong perhaps being a little satirical? Probably.
But in a world where misinformation is so prevalaent and people are happy to latch onto anything and everything they see on the internet, it’s not the best look.
It’s not like Ruth lived in the 9th century or something. There is plenty of very easy to track, documented history of his existence if you simply take five minutes to research.
But hey, maybe a century from now people will think Pete Crow-Armstrong never existed.
