The Los Angeles Rams pulled off the move of the NFL offseason so far as they traded for future Hall of Fame pass rusher Myles Garrett. Some NFL fans think that his girlfriend, Olympic Gold Medal-winning snowboarder Chloe Kim, played a role in the deal.

News of the blockbuster trade sending Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns to the Los Angeles Rams — in exchange for edge rusher Jared Verse plus multiple future draft picks — was broken on June 1, coincidentally the same day that AJ Brown was traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots.

NFL fans are speculating that Myles Garrett’s girlfriend Chloe Kim, a Long Beach, CA native, played a role in him being traded to the Los Angeles Rams

Chloe Kim, who began dating Garrett last year, is from Long Beach, California, leading some NFL fans to speculate she played a role in the deal.

“Chloe Kim was in his ear saying ‘Myles I want to leave Cleveland’ F MY LIFE F IT ALL,” read one viral tweet (although we’ve edited it to take out the racist connotations).

“Chloe Kim, Myles Garrett’s girlfriend had ann influence in this trade,” a second NFL fan posted.

“Chloe Kim said you better move to LA, I’m not going to Cleveland.”

“Chloe Kim gets to now be only 10-ish miles from home instead of having to live in Cleveland.”

“Chloe Kim I can’t prove it but I know you had something to do with this.”

“Chloe Kim working behind the scenes to bring her man to LA. I respect it.”

Already one of the major favorites to win next year’s Super Bowl, the Rams’ acquisition of Garrett — who set the record for most stats in a single season last year with 23 — has seen them propel to the top of the sportsbooks as the outright favorite to win the 2026 NFL Championship with odds of +550 (the next closest team is the Buffalo Bills at +1000).

Garrett, drafted by the Browns out of Texas A&M with the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, played 9 seasons in Cleveland and racked up 293 solo tackles, 119 assists, 125.5 sacks and 6 fumble recoveries. He was selected to play in 7 Pro Bowls, and has won 2 Defensive Player of the Year awards.
