After an explosive NFL season, Christian McCaffrey has his hands full this off-season: Vacationing in St. Barths with his fiancée Olivia Culpo, planning a wedding, and filming a BODYARMOR ZERO SUGAR commercial co-staring his future bride.

“It was fun, our first time working together on something like this…Olivia loves the product too. It was a great experience,” McCaffrey says to BroBible me over the phone, hinting at the seamless blend between both their professional and personal lives ahead of their pending nuptials. McCaffrey has been a pitchman for BODYARMOR for years, noting that he loves the brand’s focus on “healthy, effective hydration without sugar or artificial sweeteners.”

“The newest BODYARMOR ZERO SUGAR campaign is a lighthearted way to show how Christian and I have ‘Zero to Hide’ in our relationship,” Culpo adds in a press release.

“We are both into wellness and taking care of our bodies, so being in this campaign together with BODYARMOR was an easy choice… we’re loving their latest innovation with ZERO sugar and ZERO grams of carbs.” The former Miss Universe 2012 notes that BODYARMOR ZERO SUGAR is the only sports drink made with zero sugar and no artificial sweeteners, flavors or dyes.

“It’s important for my performance and well-being,” the NFL’s leading rusher explains.

Yet, as McCaffery fields questions about his off-field life, his conversation with BroBible inevitably turns back to football.

Tiki Barber recently poured on the praise for McCaffery, calling him “the most athletic NFL running back ever.” This accolade from the 10-year New York Giants legend, while flattering, barely shifts McCaffrey’s focus from his familial aspirations on the field. He humbly acknowledges Barber’s compliment, “It’s a huge compliment coming from him. I appreciate it, but I don’t get too caught up in comparisons,” McCaffery says, ever the team player, always looking ahead.

This off-season, looking ahead involves an eager eye for the NFL Draft, where his youngest brother Luke McCaffrey’s name is beginning to stir interest. The Rice University wide receiver and former quarterback is currently projected as a Day 3 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The thought of tearing up the NFL turf with his kid brother on the professional stage is more than just a daydream for Christian; it’s a heartfelt ambition.

Especcially after the youngest McCaffrey earned some serious family bragging rights at the 2024 NFL Combine, beating out his big brother’s 40-yard dash time by one one-hundredth of a second.

Brandon from BroBible: Any up-and-comers in the draft you’re excited about?

Christian McCaffrey: Yeah, my little brother is in the draft, and I’m really excited for him. Watching him grow and turn into the player he has become has been so much fun. I can’t wait to see what’s next for him. He’s only been playing the position for a year now, and what he’s achieved in such a short amount of time, without a lifetime’s work behind it, speaks volumes about his work ethic and natural talent. He’s only going to continue improving. I’m just so fired up for him.

Brandon from BroBible: Is there any particular team you’re hoping he’ll join?

Christian: Well, I’ve played with my older brother in high school, and my younger brother too, but never got the chance to play with my youngest brother, Luke. Playing with him one day would be the coolest thing ever. So, obviously I’m biased. Selfishly, I’d love to play with him. But more importantly, I want the best for him, the best situation where he can truly shine as the great football player he is. He’s a hell of a football player. I hope he gets that and achieves everything he sets out to accomplish.

That hits right in the brotherly feels. Who doesn’t dream about lacing up with their brother on the biggest stage in sports? As a big brother, that’s about as real as it gets.

Luke has said that he’d love to play alongside his brother in San Francisco in the past. Meanwhile, the 49ers just re-signed wide receiver Chris Conley, a third round pick in the 2015 draft, on a one-year deal after stepping it up in the post-season. Who knows where the youngest McCaffrey will end up, but there’s plenty of room in the 49ers receiver corps for a rookie to start elevating their game at the highest level.

One thing is for certain: After a year where the dynamic between the Kelce Brothers was one of the most culturally significant story lines of the season, having another crazy talented McCaffrey brother in the league is just plain old good for business. Considering how dominant of a force Christian is in the league, it seems like a no-brainer Luke will end up somewhere this season.

Business 101: Win games, sure, but don’t ignore the significance of family in football.

We’ll find out where Luke McCaffrey ends up at the NFL Draft on April 25-27 in Detroit.
