Luke McCaffrey might be the little brother of San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, but he is actually the faster of the two. Barely…

A head-to-head rematch might be in order to determine the truth!

Luke, a former three-star quarterback prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2019, narrowly edged out his big bro by one one-hundredth of a second in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. He ran a 4.47. Christian ran a 4.48 back in 2017.

Both numbers are pretty impressive and Luke’s run on Saturday was the 13th-fastest time among the wide receiver group in Indianapolis. Yes, you read that correctly!

Luke McCaffrey is going to catch passes in the NFL after throwing passes to begin his college career. His last five years has been a very unique journey from quarterback to receiver and from Nebraska to Louisville to Rice. However, despite all of the change, the 22-year-old is still going to reach his goal of playing on the professional level like his older brothers and his father.

And it is very possible that he could be one of the biggest sleepers in this year’s class.

Luke dazzled at the Senior Bowl, which led to significant interest from multiple organizations. He also tested well at the Combine and showed strong hands during the gauntlet, which will draw plenty of eyes among front office members in attendance.

Beyond the 40-yard dash, they are practically identical in terms of both size and skill. Luke is slightly bigger (and apparently faster), but it is impossible to ignore the glaring similarities between them.

Of course, Luke would love to play alongside Christian in San Francisco… And considering the explosiveness of the 49ers’ offense, he would actually be a pretty great fit.

Regardless of how things shake out, Luke will forever hold bragging rights over his brother in the 40-yard dash! Even though Christian can rebut with his draft status, because little brother is not going in the top 10 like he did.
