After making headlines over the weekend with her viral reaction to watching Lionel Messi and Inter Miami take on LAFC, American soccer star Christian Pulisic has hollered at Selena Gomez with an invitation to a United States Men’s National Team game.

Gomez clearly had a genuinely good time at the Inter Miami vs. LAFC match — Miami ultimately won 3-1 with Messi chipping in with two assists — she told a reporter after the game that she “loves Messi very much.”
As for Pulisic, the 24-year-old winger/forward is currently in his first season with iconic Italian club AC Milan, which comes on the heels of an underwhelming five-year stretch at Chelsea.
While Pulisic ultimately won the Champions League with the club in 2021 and contributed with vital goals during their run to the final, he was never able to establish himself as a fixture of the team, an issue that was only exasperated by Cheslea’s penchant for changing managers.
During his time with Chelsea from 2019 to 2023, Pulisic played under Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, and Lampard a second time. Over the last year or so, however, Chelsea spent over $1 billion on youth to rebuild the squad for new manager Mauricio Pochetino — despite the record-setting financial outlay, though, they sit 12th in the Premier League table after four games — which meant Pulisic needed to find a new club.
His career in Italy has gotten off to a promising start, as he’s started in AC Milan’s first three matches of the season (all wins) and has chipped in with two goals.
Now currently on international duty with the USMNT, Pulisic will next suit up for AC Milan when they take on rivals Inter Milan in the Milan Derby on September 16.
