Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback CJ Stroud officially declared for the NFL Draft and received an outpouring of love from the Buckeyes nation. As early as this morning, some Buckeyes fans thought he was coming back for another season.
CJ Stroud will leave Columbus holding Buckeyes records for most passing yards in a single game (573) as well as the only Buckeye to throw 6 TDs three times. Stroud is now expected to be a top 5 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
He made the announcement across his social media channels, Instagram and Twitter, thanking Jesus, his family, coaches, and supporters:

His caption on Instagram reads “Proverbs 3:5,6” which refers to “[5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Stroud restricted the comments on Instagram. So the comments are primarily from his teammates all congratulating him on a fantastic career with Ohio State.
Buckeyes safety Tanner McCallister wrote “it’s been a pleasure! See you soon.” The official Ohio State Football account wrote “Continue to be great.”
The encouraging words also came in on Twitter:
Good news for the Colts.

Debatable or nah?
Best OSU QB I’ve seen since I started watching college football back in ‘95. You have a very bright future, young man.

Barry’s always in for a good troll:
I'm literally throwing up right now. I just bought season tickets thinking you were coming back next year and you do THIS to me?
How am I supposed to explain this to my 4 month old son who is your biggest fan?
