Get used to the name Catherine Raiche, because you’re going to be hearing a lot more of it in the coming years.

Currently serving as the assistant general manager of the Cleveland Browns, NFL insider Ian Rapoport quote tweeted a video of Raiche at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week and suggested that she could be the first female general manager in the history of the NFL.

As many of the replies to Rapoport’s tweet mention, former Raiders CEO Amy Trask also rose quite high up the NFL ranks, as she served as the team’s Chief Executive Officer from 1197 to 2013. However, Trask never officially held the title of general manager.

Still just 34 years old, Raiche — who was born in Montreal — graduated from the Université de Sherbrooke with a degree in law. She began her career in football in the CFL, serving as the Coordinator of football administration for the Montreal Alouettes from 2015 to 2017.

The Aloutettes then promoted her to assistant general manager, before she headed off to the Toronto Argonauts to serve as Director of Football Amisinstraion until 2019. Following her stint in the CFL, Raiche went down to Florida to work in the front office for the XFL’s Tampa Bay Vipers.

Following the collapse of the second iteration of the XFL, Raiche broke into the NFL as she was hired by the Philadelphia Eagles to serve as a football operations coordinator. After just two seasons, the Eagles promoted her to Vice President of Football Operations, a position she held during the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

After the Eagles’ run to the Super Bowl last year, Raiche was hired by the Cleveland Browns to be their assistant general manager, which technically does put her one promotion away from running an NFL team.
