The Cleveland Browns offense has gone through some struggles this season.

Those struggles can at least partially be blamed on their quarterback situation.

The team entered the season with Jacoby Brissett as their starting QB as Deshaun Watson served his suspension. While Brissett performed admirably in the role at times, the team was clearly limited with him under center.

Deshaun Watson has recently returned from his suspension, but has not been particularly impressive in his first few games back.

While quarterback play is partially to blame for the struggles, the fact of the matter is the team also has a wide receiver issue. They just don’t have many options at the position.

Amari Cooper has been a solid WR1 for the team this season and will top 1000 yards for the year and Donovan Peoples-Jones has been a good 2nd option, but beyond them, the options aren’t great.

David Bell currently has the 3rd most receiving yards on the team by a receiver with just 196.

Those struggles appear to have one of the team’s stars missing a former member of the Cleveland Browns.

Today, Nick Chubb talked about how great it would be to have Jarvis Landry back.

Landry certainly made an impact for the Browns during his 4 years in Cleveland. Over the course of those 4 seasons, Landry reeled in 288 catches for 3560 yards and 15 touchdowns and even topped 1000 yards in 2019. He was also voted onto the Pro Bowl team in each of his first 2 seasons in Cleveland.

Despite that success and their seeming lack of dependable receivers to replace him, the Browns let him go after last season and he signed with the New Orleans Saints. Since joining the Saints Landry has struggled with injuries and hasn’t made much of an impact when he has been healthy.

Maybe he’ll change that this week with the chance to put together a strong performance in a revenge game.

Regardless of how things go on Saturday, it seems Nick Chubb will be wishing that his former teammate was back in a Cleveland Browns jersey.
