This weekend, the college football world knew they were in store for a wild Saturday. With 6 matchups between Top 25 teams, there was sure to be plenty of excitement. Nobody could have been prepared for what they got in the game between Alabama and Tennessee.

The two teams entered the game with Alabama as the 3rd ranked team in the nation and Tennessee as the 6th. Early on, you’d have never known Bama was supposed to be one of the nation’s top teams or that they were a big favorite in the game.

Tennessee jumped out to a big lead early, leading 21-7 at the end of the first quarter and extending that lead as far as 18 in the 2nd quarter.

Bama battled back as expected. They had Tennessee’s lead down to 8 at the half and tied it early in the second half. The teams battled back and forth the rest of the way until Bama seemingly finally got the upper hand with a scoop and score to take the lead with 7:49 left.

Tennessee fought back, answering with a touchdown of their own 4 minutes later. Then Alabama got the ball with just over 3 minutes left on the clock. They drove down the field and appeared to have set themselves up for a go-ahead field goal with about 20 seconds left. Their kicker missed it wide right.

Tennessee took advantage and took just two plays to put themselves in position for a game-winner. They didn’t miss. Their kicker got a wobbly kick from 40 yards out to sneak over the crossbar for the 52-49 win.

Unsurprisingly, college football fans are losing it after the wild Tennessee win.
