The coaching carousel has been in full swing lately with some major jobs getting filled and some big names finding new jobs.

Even with all of the news, there is still no coach whose future is being followed as closely as Deion Sanders.

Sanders is expected to make the jump to the FBS ranks and he is reportedly deciding between Colorado and Cincinnati with him leaning heavily towards Colorado.

A report today revealed how much their offer to Sanders is actually worth. According to CBS Sports’ Dennis Dodd, the Buffaloes are offering Coach Prime a contract worth at least $5 million per year and the compensation could get as high as $7 million.

Th $5 million base salary would put Deion just outside the top 25 highest paid coaches in the country. If it got up to $7 million then he would become one of the 15 highest paid coaches in college football.

Whether or not he reaches his incentives, Sanders would find himself as one of the 3 highest paid coaches in the PAC-12.

It’s a huge investment in a coach that has never coached at the FBS level but Sanders has certainly been impressive during his career coaching in the FCS.

This season, Sanders’ Jackson State team has put together an undefeated record and has won all but one of their games by double digits.

With a massive salary like this, Colorado will be hoping Coach Prime can turn them into a power in the PAC-12 as the conference goes through some major changes. The Buffaloes haven’t been a particularly successful program in recent years as they’ve put together 5 losing seasons in the last 6 seasons.

Sanders will need to put an end to those struggles quickly for this deal to pay off for the Buffaloes.
