It hasn’t taken very long for the presence of Deion Sanders to be felt at Colorado.

He has been securing big wins for the program in recruiting and in the transfer portal since he arrived in Boulder.

There is so much excitement about his first season with the Buffaloes that there were even rumors about the team having a game moved to Week 0 to make sure his debut got a spot on national television.

Today, the rankings of each team’s transfer class in college football was released and it showed that there is good reason to be excited about Deion’s new team.

According to Rivals, Colorado has this year’s best transfer class by a pretty wide margin.

The Buffaloes did have a bit of a leg up on the competition in the transfer portal battle this year.

They are the only team on the list that landed a 5-star transfer. That was Travis Hunter, who happened to have already played for Sanders at Jackson State before transferring. That was also true for Sanders’ son, Shedeur, who was a 4-star transfer.

Still, Colorado was so far ahead in the transfer portal this year that they would have been near the top of the list even without those two. Without them, the team would have had 2 4-star transfers and 16 3-star transfers.

Those are the same numbers as Arizona State, who has the 2nd best transfer class this year.

It is very early in Deion Sanders’ time with the Colorado Buffaloes, but it is clear that he will quickly be making big changes to a program that produced a 1-11 team that was the worst in the PAC-12 just a year ago.
