Indianapolis Colts’ rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is wasting no time making an impression at training camp.

Despite being considered a raw prospect, Richardson is already receiving 1st-team reps as he competes with Gardner Minshew for the coveted QB1 position, as reported by Mike Chappell.

Richardson, who was the third quarterback chosen in this year’s draft after Panthers Bryce Young and Texans C.J. Stroud, had a good offseason leading up to camp.

Richardson’ potential and talent have not gone unnoticed by the Colts’ management.

Recently, Colts owner Jim Irsay hinted that Minshew might get the early nod as the starter for the regular season, but the final decision lies with head coach Shane Steichen.

The Colts’ decision to give Richardson first-team reps early in training camp indicates their eagerness to evaluate his potential as a starter.

Additionally, apart from his on-field talents, Richardson garnered attention during the offseason for an inspiring off-the-field story.

The remarkable tale has further endeared him to fans and added to the overall excitement surrounding the young quarterback.
