Colts fans will have to wait a bit longer to see rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson back in action.

The promising young signal-caller is currently in concussion protocol and will be sidelined for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed the news, stating that Gardner Minshew is set to step into the starting role for the Colts in Week 3.

Richardson’s concussion occurred during the first half of last week’s victory over the Houston Texans. In relief, Minshew performed admirably, completing 19 of 23 passes for 171 yards and throwing a touchdown.

The 4th overall pick in the 2023 Draft might stand to benefit from a short break to reset himself after taking a number of big hits in his first two games.

Richardson has shown promise in those two starts this season, completing 30 of 47 pass attempts for 279 yards. Additionally, he has displayed his mobility by rushing for 75 yards and accounting for a total of four touchdowns.
