The Commanders have a new owner in Josh Harris, and he might be ready to make a big move this offseason.

Harris bought the team this offseason from the much maligned Dan Snyder, but decided not to clean house right away, keeping incumbent head coach Ron Rivera in place for Harris’ first year with the team.

But the team is having a rough season, starting off 2-6 at the midseason mark, and just traded two of their best players, defensive ends Chase Young and Montez Sweat for Day 2 picks.

The signs are clear that Rivera will be fired at the end of the season if not earlier. So the question is, who will the team turn to?, according to NBC ProFootballTalks’ Mike Florio, it rumored to be a trade for Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

While making an appearance on Zach Gelb’s Show on CBS Sports Radio, Florio said the following: “I’m hearing chatter to this effect, not that it’s reporting, but when you’re plugged in to the NFL grapevine and you hear something like this, it’s too good to keep to yourself.”

Florio continued: “There’s a theory out there that when the season ends, Josh Harris the new owner of the Commanders is going to call the Patriots and inquire about what it would take to get Bill Belichick.

Florio adds: “So the Patriots wouldn’t fire him. The Patriots would especially trade him to Washington.”

Belichick and the Patriots are having a rough season as well, with a 2-6 record of their own. Many feels it’s time for owner Robert Kraft to move on from Bill.
