There was once a time when MMA fans hung on every word Conor McGregor said. He was one of the world’s top fighters and he was constantly delivering memorable quotes. Those days are long gone.

Nowadays, it’s more likely that if Conor McGregor is speaking, he’s telling somebody about the ridiculous beliefs he has about his own career. It has become a pattern. He still holds wild beliefs about his matchups with Dustin Poirier. He recently spoke about how he believe he has the sport’s best ground and pound. Now he’s added another ridiculous quote.

Today, in an interview with The Mac Life was released where he stated that he would waltz back into the UFC and beat Kamaru Usman for the welterweight belt.

The part about Conor even getting the fight with Usman should be ridiculous to begin with, but it’s not impossible for the UFC to decide they want to give him the fight for no real reason other than money.

It’s the other part of his take that his truly ridiculous. You could take a stop in every single universe that Doctor Strange finds in Multiverse of Madness and you wouldn’t find one where Conor McGregor ever beats Kamaru Usman.

We saw what happened when Conor fought Khabib and that was arguably a better Conor than we saw in either fight against Dustin Poirier. Kamaru Usman is basically bigger, stronger Khabib with more effective and powerful striking. If Usman and Conor fought, it would be an absolute bloodbath.

Conor McGregor has only beaten Donald Cerrone since 2016. He might want to change that before he starts angling for a title shot.
