A couple of days ago boxing legend Iron Mike Tyson decided to chime in with his thoughts on the upcoming circus sideshow, I mean superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather on August 26th in Las Vegas. Being a dyed-in-the-wool boxing guy, Tyson didn’t give McGregor much of a fighting chance when he discussed it on Pardon My Take. In fact, he said McGregor is “going to get killed” and called him a dumbass.

McGregor is going to get killed boxing. I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy?

McConor put his dumbass in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby. McConor [sic] can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance.”

“McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing.”

If you thought that McGregor, the current UFC Lightweight Champion, wasn’t going to respond to that, Mike Tyson or no Mike Tyson, then you don’t know Conor McGregor very well. Of course, he responded, tweeting, “That’s nice Mike, but you’re looking at the new Don King here, son. Money is mine.”

This isn’t the first time McGregor has called himself a promoter either, or even the second. McGregor is 100% feeling himself these days…

McGregor also took another shot at Tyson and all the other doubters on Instagram Tuesday night with this Instagram post, saying, “You are all going to eat your words for the rest of your days, while I eat lobster for the rest of mine.”

You know what? I think his persistence is starting to pay off because now I am actually rooting for him to win. Someone who talks that much HAS to back it up, right? I’d love to see it happen. Then I will go watch his movie.
