Both Watkins Glen International and Joe Gibbs are historic names in the world of auto racing, and if the first part of his NASCAR career is any indication, Christopher Bell will end up in the same company when it’s all said and done.
The 31-year-old Oklahoma native already has 13 NASCAR Cup Series wins and four consecutive top-five finishes in the point standings on his resume, and there’s plenty of reason to believe that a championship, if not multiple championships, is soon to follow.

So when menswear brand COOFANDY was looking for a team and driver to partner with for this year’s race at the legendary road course, Bell was an easy choice.
Some Great Scenery And An Endless Amount Of History
Nestled into the Finger Lakes of upstate New York, there is perhaps no more scenic race track on the NASCAR circuit than Watkins Glen. The series first raced at the illustrious circuit all the way back in 1957, and has been coming to the track annually since 1986.
When you look around, not just at the scenery, but the incredible crowds of dedicated race fans, it’s easy to see why. Despite typically unpredictable Spring weather in the northeast, fans turned out in droves to camp in the infield and watch the sport’s biggest stars duke it out.
And it’s easy to see why when you take just a quick look at Watkins Glen’s history.
Not only has it hosted NASCAR races, but it’s also hosted Formula 1 races, IndyCar races, IMSA races, and just about everything in between.
To claim victory at “The Glen” is to put yourself alongside legendary names such as Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, Jeff Gordon, and Tony Stewart.
And Bell knows how to get around the famed track as well as anyone in the series. In five starts prior to this year’s race, he’s finished inside the top 10 four times, including a runner-up finish a year ago.
So it’s easy to understand why he told COOFANDY and BroBible that he liked his chances this time around, especially after qualifying in eighth position.
A High Quality Partner For A Race With The Highest Of Standards
While the NASCAR of old was all about season-long primary sponsors, such as Jeff Gordon’s famed DuPont scheme and Dale Earnhardt’s legendary Goodwrench car, the game has changed in recent years.
Now, teams are constantly on the lookout for emerging brands that not only want to get in on the sport but can also live up to the high expectations of a race team with a reputation like JGR.
Gibbs, the team’s namesake and Hall of Fame NFL coach, first entered the sport in 1992, and all he’s done since is win. Joe Gibbs Racing has five NASCAR Cup Series championships and has won 499 races across NASCAR’s various levels.
So if you’re going to associate with the team, you’ve got some high expectations to meet.
