Cops Say They Found A Loaded Gun In The Car Of Slain Saints’ Player Will Smith

New details have been surfacing over the past few days following the devastating news of New Orleans Saints defender Will Smith’s death, who was shot and killed in New Orleans following a small fender bender.

After surveillance cameras showed that it appeared as if it was Smith’s car that initiated the first contact with the primary suspect, Cardell Hayes, cops said that, after obtaining a search warrant to go into Smith’s car, they recovered a fully loaded 9mm handgun.

While the discovery doesn’t change the unfortunate result, it could dramatically help the defense’s case for Hayes, who has proclaimed that he felt threatened by Smith during the altercation, with one witness even proclaiming that Smith was going to his car to grab his gun, which, in turn, led Hayes to act in self defense.

New Orleans PD are still conducting interviews with witnesses and will continue their investigation, but the loaded gun could be a major turning point in trying to uncover the truth of what happened that night.
