Although it took seven games, the Texas Rangers eventually defeated the Houston Astros in the ALCS en route to the franchise’s first-ever World Series title. Corey Seager proceeded to defeat their in-state rivals with a deep-cut callback during the victory parade in Dallas on Friday afternoon.

The Astros won the ALDS on October 1. Alex Bregman proceeded to make a strong statement in the locker room after the win. It referenced all of the people who were hating on his team and questioned what the AL playoff picture would look like if the Twins beat them in the ALDS.

A lot of people were wondering what it was gonna be like if the ‘Stros didn’t win the Division. I guess we’ll never know!

Houston went on to lose to Texas in the next series. Seager held on to what Bregman had to say.

The Rangers victory parade saw players ride in the back of pickup trucks wrapped to celebrate the occasion. All of the stars had their own truck, including Seager.

As he was zipping around the streets, someone tossed him an ice-cold beer. Seager — a Gold Glove Finalist for a reason — made a nice one-handed snag, popped the top, and had a foamy sip.

Upon arrival to the stage in front of Globe Life Field, the boys were nice and boozed up. The party was on!

One by one, certain players made their way to the podium for speeches. Seager had one specific line in mind, and it dated back to 33 days prior.

He finished his speech with a savage quip that sent his teammates into a frenzy.

I just got one thing to say—

Everybody was wondering what would happen if the Rangers didn’t win the World Series…

I GUESS WE’LL NEVER KNOW!

Mic. Drop.

Seager had that one at the ready. Was it something that he had prepared before that moment? Probably. Had it been on his mind since Bregman’s comments after the ALCS? It sure seems that way!

Call it petty, call it the Astros living rent-free in the Rangers’ heads. The haters are going to hate.

Seager doesn’t care. He got the last laugh and a MLB championship ring!
